What to pack to your Childs first swim lesson
What to pack to your Childs first Swim Lesson
Starting swimming lessons is an exciting time for both parents and their little swimmers. Ensuring that everything is packed will ensure the first lesson is both enjoyable and smooth.
1) Well fitting swimmers
Ideally have your child already wearing their swimmers, but having a well fitted pair of swimwear ensures your child will be comfortable in their swim lesson and also swimming in the lesson as well as possible. Swimwear that are too small can be uncomfortable and cause chaffing, and too large can provide extra weight to their body while swimming in the swim lesson, so a good fit is vital.
2) Goggles
A pair of fitted goggles will help children look and focus underwater and avoid any irritation from water in their eyes in their swim lesson. Ideally if goggles are new, that they be practiced with in the bath prior to swim lessons.
3) Towel
A dry towel for your child to dry after their swim lessons and/or after their shower. Hooded towels are also becoming increasingly popular.
4) Warm Clothing
Having some warm clothes to change into after their swim lessons will make them comfortable after their lesson, especially after the winter months.
5) Swim Diaper if needed
If your child is not potty trained, they will require a swim diaper to wear under their swimwear. At Blast Swim Academy we have a two-layer policy of protection to ensure water quality and sanitation. Your local Blast Swim Franchise can give more information on this.
6) Snacks
Having something for your child to eat and drink, or even a treat after their first lesson helps them to settle in after their swim lesson.
