Independent Swimmers
Teacher and Child Program
These lessons are centred on developing specific skills and techniques that enable your child to propel through the water independently. You can expect lots of activities and games to make learn to swim fun for your child.
Turtle
2–3 years (advanced)
Our Turtle class is for very confident swimmers and is an advanced toddler swimming level. We strive for unassisted swimming through kicking and paddling. The children will also be learning skills with kickboards and noodles to enhance their abilities and independence.

Crab
Skill based
Crabs are independent beginner swimmers learning foundation swimming skills. This is our first Teacher and Child level for beginners. We focus on conditioning children to feel comfortable in the water and basic swimming techniques.

- Basic understanding of water
- May not have had lessons before
- Can swim without a parent in the water
Octopus
Skill based
Children develop a basic freestyle stroke through learning their big arms. We also teach buoyancy through floating and backstroke kicking. By the time your child is ready to graduate from the Octopus class, they will be an independent swimmer with a strong kick and arm movements that can propel them through the water.

- Can put their eyes in the water and blow bubbles
- Can propel themselves unassisted through the water
